ART 2012: A MULTIMEDIA PERFORMANCE OF VISUAL-ACOUSTIC-INTELLECTUAL PERCEPTION

Barbara Rett is considered one of the leading moderators in Austria. She has hosted the legendary "CLUB 2", leads the festival talks at the Salzburg Festival, and moderates the artists dialogues at the Vienna Opera Ball and the New Year’s Concert.
 

MARTIN GRUBINGER: PERCEPTION BY PERCUSSION

  Martin Grubinger has been recently discovered as one of the leading percussionists and marimbaphon players. He performs worldwide in concert halls, e.g. Carnegie Hall in New York, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and the Vienna and Berlin Philharmonic. For ART 2012 he will create a visual-acoustic performance with Victoria Coeln.
 

VICTORIA COELN: LIGHT ART - AN INSTALLATION

  Victoria Coeln develops light sites she refers to as “Chromotopia”. Her work condenses and concretizes light and incorporates scientific knowledge as well as the power of emotion and personal encounter. Since 1994 the Austrian artist has created permanent outdoor Chromotopia for the Vienna Concert Hall and the Municipal of Public Lighting Vienna, temporary Chromotopia in and around the Vienna landmark St. Stephen’s Cathedral, the Vienna Town Hall, the Wiener Staatsoper and performances for music festivals in Europe and the USA (New York City).
 

PETER SLOTERDIJK: PERCEPTION - ART - SOCIETY

  Peter Sloterdijk is a German philosopher, television host, cultural scientist and essayist. He is a professor of philosophy and media theory at the University of Art and Design Karlsruhe. He has worked as a freelance writer, and in 1983 published his “Critic of Cynical Reason”. He has since published a number of acclaimed philosophical works in Germany. He currently co-hosts the television show “Im Glashaus: Das Philosophische Quartett”, devoted to discussing key contemporary issues.
 

FLYING SAXOPHONE CIRCUS AND SCHOSTAKOWITSCH’S WALTZ

  Twelve high-profile classic saxophonists from several philharmonic orchestras in Germany have formed a unique saxophone orchestra including all instruments of the saxophone family from sopranino to bass. The group has received the renowned ECHO Award for classic beyond borders.
 

PETER SIMONISCHEK: VISION IN LITERATURE

  Peter Simonischek is one of the most important individuals in acting in the German-speaking landscape. He is at home on stage as well as in film, in classic theater as well as in modern movies. He performs at the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus, the Schaubühne Berlin and is currently a member of the Burgtheater in Vienna. He is well known as “Jedermann” at the Salzburg Festival. For ART 2012 he will present selected readings on the idea of seeing in literature.
 

MARIA HAPPEL AND THE VIENNA PHILHARMONIC STRING QUARTET

  Like Simonischek, the actress Maria Happel is a performer in cinema and theater and a member of the Burgtheater in Vienna. In 1999 she received the Kainz- Medaille as leading performer in Austria. She is active as a producer at the Reichenau Festival and a teacher at the Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna. For ART 2012 she will perform her own piano compositions with the string quartet of the Vienna Philharmonic.
 

SERAPIONS THEATER: VOILÀ - A CHOREOGRAPHIC SPECTACLE

  The Serapion group combines music, dance theater, spectacle and performing arts and was founded in 1973 under the guidance of Erwin Piplitz and Ulrike Kaufmann. In addition to many other awards the performers received the Nestroy-Preis for their life achievements, the most important Austrian theater recognition. The Odeon Theater is their home in Vienna.

Artistic director: Joachim Dennhardt/Stockholm
Joachim Dennhardt is a German writer, television manager and moderator, movie maker and organizer of cultural performances throughout Europe. He has published lyrics and created the literary revue “Lyrics”. For his movie “An Opera Aff air” he received the international Media Net Award. He invented and produced the world’s fi rst interactive television show “Murder Decision”, which was broadcast from Japan to America.
